Why the name Boudica?

When thinking about building a social site for smart, dynamic women, we needed a strong name. Boudica seemed the perfect choice. As the name of an important female historical figure, we felt it would be a good strong name for the site.
Boudica was the Queen of the Iceni tribe in England before the Romans arrived. In AD60 she led a rebellion against the Romans. After Boudica's husband died, the Romans treated Boudica and her daughters badly. The Iceni tribe attacked a Roman garrison by surprise and then headed for London, taking on the Ninth Region.
In London, Boudica's tribe burned buildings and killed those left behind. They fought a major battle with the Roman army but the Britons had no chance against the vast quantity of Roman troops.
There is a statue of Boudica on the Embankment in London, in her chariot with her two daughters charging through the ranks.
At Boudica.com, you don't need to take on the world but hopefully you'll be informed, entertained and make new friendships, ready to face the world.
